To Be or Not to Be on a Mailing List? - That Is the Big Question!
I don’t send many emails, but I try hard to make each one worth your time. I put a lot of effort into that. If you’re here, you probably want fewer emails—or none at all. Either way, you’re in control.
You can always click 'unsubscribe' at the bottom of any of my emails if you no longer want to hear from me. However, the problem is that my mailing system interprets that as a complete rejection.
Its default 'unsubscribe' link removes you from everything—all sequences, broadcasts, and even course updates. This is great if you NEVER want to hear from me again. But it’s not so great if, for example, you’re a student of mine and you only want to stop one specific email series.
Option A — Leave everything (instant)
Use the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email from me. This is permanent across my system and may block course notifications.
Good for: leaving all lists, all updates, everything.
Option B — Tweak your preferences (recommended)
If you just want to stop a specific sequence (e.g., Thursday Letter, a 21-day series, or a topic you’ve moved on from), tell me and I’ll remove you manually from that list while keeping your course access and other emails intact.
How to request a partial unsubscribe (pick one):
- Reply to my last email with: “Please unsubscribe me from this list.”
- Or email me at [email protected] with which series you want to stop.
Good for: students, customers, and readers who want fewer emails—not zero.
Why Am I Not Receiving Any Emails From You?
This is the other issue—students asking me where their emails are.
But don’t worry—this can be solved easily! See below for details.
If you just want to stop receiving certain emails or a specific email series—like if you signed up for emails about time management but want to focus on something else now—here’s what to do:
Send me an email at [email protected], - or even better a reply email from the last email you received in that series and you want to unsubscribe to with the line, "Please unsubscribe me from this list." - and I’ll remove your email address from that specific list. No problem at all! :)
